Raisin D’etre (Sound Editor, Editor, Cinematographer)

“Raisin D’Etre explores the history of Fresno and raisins through the lives of local people with roots in the community.”

I played the roles of Cinematographer, Editor, and Sound Editor on this project. As one of the Cinematographers, I practiced how to set up audio, video, and lighting for multicam longform interviews. During the editing phase, I trimmed footage to tell both a cohesive and captivating story, while also balancing audio levels and cleaning up audio issues from noisy environments we recorded in.

This project was my first documentary and the largest project I’ve worked on so far. Being a part of it taught me how to pace work for longer periods of time and how to incorporate multiple team members’ feedback into the decisions I make.
